Dr Maria Georgiou

Tutor For The Psychology and Human Behaviour Course
Dr Maria Georgiou is presently the tutor for the Psychology and Human Behaviour course, as well as a counselor to any students who may require psychological and emotional support. She is also a part-time lecturer in psychology at the University of Nicosia, Nicosia, Cyprus.

Experience & Activities

Dr Maria Georgiou qualified in Psychology (B.A.), Regents College, now known as Excelsior College, New York State University, USA, Psychology (M.A), University of Indianapolis, USA with her Master’s dissertation examining the effects of divorce on children.

She also has a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from Durham University, UK. Her doctoral thesis examined Attachment influences on understanding of self and others.

She also an accredited Psychotherapist of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and has been awarded the European Certificate of Psychotherapy and is a Chartered Psychologist of the British Psychological Society.

Dr Maria Georgiou is presently the tutor for the Psychology and Human Behaviour course, as well as a counselor to any students who may require psychological and emotional support. She is also a part-time lecturer in psychology at the University of Nicosia, Nicosia, Cyprus.

In addition, she is responsible for the background administrative duties of the college that involve academic policy decisions. She is also part of the Doctoral Thesis committee.
